Dear Reader, Winter is almost here. The longest night. (I don't mean to reference the Game of Thrones winter, though as far as I know, it is apropos.) The solstice and winter energetically are about the retreat: going into the cave, down into the earth, hibernation and rest. Dark, cold, still, heavy, Feminine. When we honor and respect these as positives qualities we can listen more intently and hear more clearly. When I teach menstrual cycle awareness using the Inner Seasons, I like to draw the image of the theater: in the Inner Summer the house lights are on and we can see the audience and the world around us; in the Inner Winter its like the house lights dim and a spotlight shines on us - our inner world. The world needs to learn more from the Feminine perspective and your being still and quiet is a radical act of self-care, community-care and resistance. Even if no one sees or knows what you are doing, at least they are not seeing you participate in the busy-ness that tends to consume us. My wish for you is that you can make the time to set the stage lights on your inner world so you can listen to that beautiful, honest and often quiet-as-a-mouse voice. Remember too that your inner voice is always a voice of love, not fear or anxiety - those are the voices of society. If you have children, you will most likely need to request support so that you can experience this. Asking for help is also a radical act! As this is a time for reflection, gratitude is also in order. So I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of you! To everyone who has attended a class, course, workshop or circle... to everyone who reads these emails... to everyone who has shared my offerings, social media or ideas... to everyone who encourages me to keep going. I literally could not do it without you! I also want to honor all of you who have been transformed by the miracle and initiation of birth this year. Your lives have been fundamentally shifted and, considering the transformation that the world is experiencing in this time, you are (we are all) part of the deep medicine that is needed to create the world that is to come. It is a tall order, but we have each other and I believe that is the foundation of everything. I love what I do and I want to continue to support you in your experiencing of motherhood in a revolutionary way. I have many ideas in the pipeline, but I have a tendency to get stuck in my own head. So, if you want more classes, courses, workshops etc, please let me know what you want and need. I have an easy survey so you can let me know!
And one save-the-date note: MotherCircle will run again starting Friday, January 24th. May you find rest, slowness, quiet and gratitude in this season. My blessings and gratitude to you all! Dawn Just so that you know all the ways I can support youLove what I offer? Please leave me a business review on Google or Yelp.

If I can share space in your inbox, I'll whisper my heart-felt musings on the making of Mother Culture - and invite you to our gatherings
Dear friends, Spring is here! Can you feel the energy shift? I often have a lot of inspiration this time of year and while I know it isn't going to last, I get to learn how to harness it and ride the waves. This weekend I went back to the beginning (a spring theme 🌱) of my Sacred Rhythms' work: I went to a doula training! You see, the birth of my first child, like the birth of every child, was an initiation. Not only into my journey as mother but into the sacred power of birth itself. And...
Dear friends, I want to invite you (or your pregnant friends) to our Embodied Birth Skills childbirth education course. You may have heard me talk about this as an evergreen online course - which it is. AND occasionally, when there is enough interest, I offer this course in person! And there has been interest lately. In person can really be amazing! You get the community aspect in addition to the course material, and there is no way that I can replicate community with an online class. Of...
Dear Reader, Do you trust your body? Do you know how to "listen to your body?" Have you ever felt betrayed by your body? I think a lot of women feel confusion about their bodies, what their bodies are "saying" or are fearful about something in their bodies. I think many of us feel like we wish our bodies could do more. Like, the brain says, "you should be able to just get up and do that thing..." or "just keep going, it will be fine!" and then later it is NOT fine! You're exhausted. And...
